The introduction of obstacle course racing to Modern Pentathlon required Pentathlon GB to invest in high performance training facilities that incorporated the new equipment needed.
Having already identified a location at the University of Bath and the requirement for an external structure, Out The Park Group (OTP) worked with both Pentathlon GB and UK Sport's high performance training facilities team to really understand how the space would be used and what needed to be achieved.
From this, we identified the most cost effective semi-permanent structure that met the specific requirements of a 4m height clearance and a footprint of 12m x 30m.
OTP facilitated the purchase and installation of the structure, supported the planning application process, built and installed the flooring and designed and installed the internal fit-out including light, power, heat and airflow management.
Following installation, we worked with Pentathlon GB on how the space was being used and continued to make adjustments to achieve the best possible training environment, as well as providing an agreed service package for the facility.
