Out The Part Group Limited (OTP) worked with leading UK arts producers, Artichoke, to help deliver Lumiere, the UK’s light art biennial. The event featured over 30 light-based art installations from UK and international artists across the city of Durham. OTP provided technical management support and became a key part of the overall delivery team.
Working with multiple stakeholders including the city council, University of Durham, and multiple venues, we scoped suitable locations for the art installations and worked with the wider multi-discipline team to gain all required permissions.
We collaborated with Artichoke as members of the selection panel for the BRILLIANT commissioning scheme, through which artists apply to present new commissions at the light art biennial. We also provided technical direction and mentorship to help selected artists turn their vision into live installations.
We worked with the logistics team to scope and book all required crew, plant and support needed and oversaw all health and safety requirements and processes, working closely with the event H&S officer.
